2009 Alaska & Calgary Stampede Travelcade
60 Day Caravan - July 7, 2009 to September 4, 2009
We invite you to join us on this trip of a lifetime. We rendezvous in Great Falls, Montana before crossing the Canadian Border and arriving in Hill Spring. Here we enjoy a welcome dinner, a bus tour to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump, the Canadian Northwest Mounted Police tours and their famous musical ride before heading on to Calgary.
The city of Calgary goes all out once every year to present the “Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.” You can’t help but have the time of your life at the world famous Calgary Stampede. It’s an awesome spectacle of “How The West Was Won!” Besides a Wild West Barbecue Dinner you have guaranteed “VIP” seating for the Stampede activities including World Class Rodeo Events, World Championship Chuckwagon Races and the Outdoor Grandstand Spectacular. The show culminates with a dazzling combination of fireworks and laser lights – a fitting end to a wonderful day.
We see 1800s stage shows, glaciers and Mt. McKinley (North America’s highest mountain), standing at 20,304 feet. Relive the Gold Rush of 1898 and try your hand at Gold panning. The scenery and wildflowers are spectacular along the beautiful Alaska Highway, Cassiar Highway and at the “Top of the World” Highway. We usually see many wild animals on this tour: Sheep, caribou, elk, moose, bear (both cubs and adults), wolf and bald eagles to name a few. If you are a fisherman, join in on a fisherman’s dream; the salmon will most likely be running in the Kenai Peninsula while we are there and giant halibut fishing is available in Homer, Seward and Anchorage. Enjoy scrumptious salmon, halibut and staff hosted dinners, both scheduled and spontaneous.
Cost will be $7,345 for two people in one RV or $6,195 for one person in an RV. Each additional person in an RV is $2,445.
