Having received no news from any traveling Fleetwood AZ Unit members, one must assume that you all have spent the last few months staying locally.

The fall eating frenzy has begun again please check the events page in the newsletter and call the listed person in order in insure that you will be included in this event. There are several locations listed in Arizona so find one close to you and enjoy meeting some of your old friends. Diane is planning the Spring Rally so look for news of this upcoming rally.

Your Unit and Associate dues are now payable; please send your check for $6.00 to Fleetwood Travelcade Club AZ unit and mail to Jack Ernest. Several members have already paid the 2008 dues. If you have not yet renewed your International dues you can include them with your unit dues and I will forward them on to International for you.

December Critter Report: Most of our critters have packed their bags and headed to winter nesting grounds. A few birds frequent the seed feeder and local watering hole, the quail, fully grown make a scurrying pass through the yard looking for the last bit of seed or other tidbit to munch on. The Cats have not appeared for several weeks, which is the same for the deer and Javalenas. Four dates to remember, in December: December 4, Hanukkah, December 25 Christmas, December 26 Kwanzaa begins, and December 31 New Years Eve. Enjoy your fall days and hurry back.

One of the great things about contacting people about paying their dues is hearing back from them about all the interesting things going on in their lives, and keeping up with changes that affect them. One example is there is a group of FTC members who all met for the first time at the CA Spring Rally in Chico, and really hit it off. They decided they’d like to meet more often than twice a year, and have begun having “mini-rallies”. The four couples met in Plymouth, CA on October 13th, met once in the summer, and plan to meet again in the spring. They are George & Diane Lane, Larry & Karen Baker, Dan & Kathy Reid, and Mike & Carol Powers. Good for you for making Rving a really fun way to go.

We would like to extend a special invitation to all members and/or friends to the Inland Empire Christmas Luncheon. It will be held December 8, 2007 at 1 pm at Coco’s in Moreno Valley. The address is 24949 Sunnymead on the southwest corner of Perris Ave. and Sunnymead. We have a lot of members within a 100 mile radius. Let’s get together and maybe plan some weekend outings like the people mentioned above.

Another example is hearing from Harvey & Mary Plunkett, formerly OR Unit members, but having moved to Yuma, AZ, they decided to become new CA Unit members. They have been in KY with family while their coach is at the factory in Decatur, IN. We look forward to hearing how that went. Welcome Harvey & Mary to the CA Unit. We look forward to seeing you at the CA Rallies in 2008.

Reminders of Importance: (1) Dues are due if you have not yet paid: $35 to Fleetwood Travelcade Club, and $10 for CA Unit. Send unit dues to 1551 Valley View Drive, Yuba City, CA  95993.

If you are eligible for a year award, please complete the application in the Fleetwood Flyer and get it in before the due date in order to receive it at the Spring Rendezvous.

Rallies for 2008:

May 30-June 3: Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga

October 24-28: The Springs in Borrego Springs.

Best Wishes to all for a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season.

1st VP Frank Bernard #24336, 4310 Dancey Dr., Wimauma, FL 33598;

2nd VP Larry Crisp #24163, 10265 Ulmerton Rd. #207, Largo, FL 33771;

Secy/Treas Cathy Stallings #16387 121 Rosewood Dr., Cocoa, FL 32926 (321) 403-4398 Cathy@stallings.com

The Florida Fleetwood Unit had their Fall Rally at Seasons in the Sun RV Resort in Mims, just north of Titusville, Fl. Cathy & Mike Stallings were the hosts. We are supposed to have Fun, Food and Fellowship. We certainly had the Food part down pat. Four Breakfasts and two dinners were included with the Rally Fee. We had one LEO, (Let’s Eat Out) at Dixie Crossroads and one night dinner on our own. We went on a lunch cruise on the Rivership Romance, a 3 hr cruise of Lake Monroe and the St. Johns with a gourmet lunch cooked to order on the boat. (Outstanding)

Janis Johnson gave a dancing demonstration that brought tears to the entertainer’s eyes. (Ours too). We shared the clubhouse with the rest of the campers on Halloween night and many of our group played games of Crash.

Our Unit meeting went well with new officers being elected: Bill Catron President, Frank Bernard First VP, Larry Crisp, Second VP and Cathy Stallings Secy/Treasurer.

The whole group participated in the cooking and the cleaning, but Frank Bernard, Leo Woodard, Jack Garner and Tom Russell were absolutely amazing. These guys were helping at every meal, came early and stayed late. Thanks guys.

Some of us are planning to meet at the December luncheon at Lakeland. Check the calendar for time and date. All are invited.

This is my 1st attempt at gathering news & not many sent news, so it will be brief. Janis & I attended the Florida Fall Rally and had a great time. We had plenty of FOOD, Fun & Fellowship. We even had a riverboat luncheon cruise that had delicious food. Mike & Cathy had a lot of help that served us breakfast every morning, even on the day we departed. What a treat.

Gwyn & Suzanne King are really enjoying their motorhome. They just returned from two weeks camping & fishing at Moccasin Creek.

Hopefully you will get this before the Christmas Luncheon at 12:00 noon on December 1st at Western Sizzlin', 1412 North Expressway (US-41 & US-19) in Griffin. Phone (770) 228-1064. This is the same location it was last year, which is a central location of our members. Going south on US-41/US-19, it is on the left ¼ mile south of the GA 92 west junction. Coming north it is about ½ mile north of the by-pass and downtown junction on the right. The entrance is off a side street south of the parking lot. Just go behind the other building on the corner.

Most seem to enjoy exchanging small gifts. Bring a gift to exchange for each person in your party. The value not to exceed $8.00. Feel free to invite friends and relatives. Looking forward to seeing all of you at the luncheon. If you have not done so already, advise us if you are planning to attend.

Members, if you have not paid your 2008 dues, we will collect Unit dues at the luncheon, or you should mail your check in the amount of $5.00 to Tom Johnson, Sec/Treas. If you have not paid your National dues, there has been a change in the way they are collected. National dues of $35.00 (put your club number on your check) should be mailed to: Fleetwood Travelcade Club, P.O. Box 43886, Birmingham, AL 35243.

We've had a great year, going to many Rallies, two Rendezvous’, a Travelcade and meeting many of you along the way. Hope you have a great holiday season and we'll see you at many Club functions next year.

We received a lovely thank you note from Wendy & Roger Walden of Michigan for the gift card our IN Unit donated to the Fleetwood Rendezvous in Du Quoin this past fall. In part: “We are 20 year members, but this was our first trip in several years due to poor health, so this prize made it even more special."

Vic & Maryln Kerlin spent five days camping at McCormick's Creek State Park the last of October. That was their last camping trip for the season. They've put the trailer and truck in storage at their niece's barn for the winter. They are planning to spend Thanksgiving Day at their son's home in Ohio

Lenore Gilly had a fantastic 10 day trip to Kauai Hawaii with her Granddaughter Tara, her Husband Dave, and 2 Great Granddaughters Rachel and Gracie. Sure ate a lot of pineapple and also learned to snorkel.

Save the dates: The Fall Roundup has been scheduled for August 19-24th 2008 at Elkhart Campground. More information at a later date.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A-a-a-h, it’s here again, that time of month to write an article for the newsletter. Question; what do I write about? This year has been such a busy year for Don & I, not only with our camping and finishing our new home, but the time spent organizing a 50th class reunion for Don’s classmates. Why is it that the busiest person always ends up being the chairman of a project?

Among the 114 who attended, they brought spouses (in some cases even their second or third) to reminisce about the years at school and “their youth”. What once had been all-knowing, vibrant youth of our school were now; well face it, “older”. No one had envisioned the degree of “baldness” that was present at the get-together, nor could anyone have guessed the success the classmates achieved, clearly evident by the average increase of girth. Many strolled around the cafeteria and hallways of the school staring at each other’s chests (I mean name tags) looking up to see curious stares, until finally our aging minds suddenly remembered and comments like - “Gee Whiz, you look the same” or ”No way! Is that really you?”

Thousands of decades of old stories were recalled. Pictures and more pictures were pulled out of dusty yearbooks or even the ladies’ purses showing those ugly hairdos and of course the horned black rimmed glasses. The speaker for the evening brought up long forgotten memories. One fellow remarked “When I was young, I was afraid of girls out of ignorance, now I’m afraid of them out of wisdom.” As the festivities wound down (around 9:30 PM because it was now almost bedtime for this generation), I looked around and was so proud to see the pleasant smiles, the happiness, even tears as former classmates exchange e-mail addresses, phone numbers, etc., even hugs. And regardless of the time which passed 5 decades, or a slight increase in girth, or loss of hair we are all the same. No lines at this age. We will forever be eighteen (at least in our minds). So all the time I spent this past year on the class reunion, I felt every minute was worth it.

So this tells you members; you can plan or take part in any activity if you set your mind to it and organize your time. Our members take time and they organize our events for you not just for themselves. So please start participating and taking advantage of your club activities.

Coming events for 2008 are:

Spring Rendezvous April 22-28, 2008 at Boone County Fairgrounds, Columbia, Missouri

Spring Buddy Rally May 11-16, 2008 at Church Campgrounds in St. Louis, Michigan

Summer Rally July 14-19, 2008 at County Fairgrounds in Lowell, Michigan

Fall Rally Pending

Fall Buddy Rally September 28-October 3, 2008 at Church Campgrounds in St. Louis, Michigan.

Dennis & Carolyn Wright have spent many volunteer hours at FISH every day. Carolyn is beginning to think Dennis has taken up permanent occupancy there. This is an organization that helps the needy in the area of Hale, Michigan. The new building is done on the outside, now to get the volunteers to finish the inside.

A couple of reminders to our members; dues are due by December 31st. You must send me $5.00 and the international $35.00. You should have already received this notice by e-mail or regular mail. Also some of you are eligible for award pins. These, I understand, will be given out at the Spring Rendezvous, but you must send in a form from your old directory. If you are unable to attend the rendezvous the pins are usually given to the state secretary to hand out at the unit’s first business meeting in 2008. The current 8 members eligible are Owens, Remingtons, Wrights, Sloughs, Kinneys, Green and Ritsemas.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Enjoy this holiday with family and your many friends.

Until the next time,

Doris

Fall has arrived in our part of the country. Lots of leaves to be raked up and the cold November winds have hit us. Sunday it was 75 degrees and today it is only 50 degrees. Our rally in October was well attended with 16 units present and one new couple joined our unit. We were happy to welcome Ron & Ruth Russell from Gladstone, MO. We hope you will be able to start putting our upcoming rallies and other Fleetwood activities on your calendar.

Our luncheon on November 14 was also well attended. The following members met at Home Town Buffet, Manchester, MO: Ray & Jeanette French, Bob & Betty Lewis, Fred & Dorothy Baumhoegger, Bob & Gerry Lorenz, Gene Blase & Dale, Earl & Jean Brigmann and Billy & Barbara Knowlton, who traveled 180 miles from Marshfield to Manchester, MO. just for the fun, food, and fellowship.

Richard & Deanie Kurek are in Michigan with their daughter who has been in the hospital. (Our prayers are with them).

The buzz at all our Missouri get-togethers now is how we can plan everything to have the best Rendezvous in April 2008 for all our fellow Fleetwooders. We are all working very hard and are having a good time at it.

Our Christmas Party is coming up next on December 5, 2007 in Rolla, MO.

Happy Holidays to y'all

Where has the Year gone!! I don’t know about others in our Unit, but we didn’t travel nearly as much as we had hoped. So we plan to make up for it in 2008. For our first trip in January we will be leaving our RV at home and flying to Barbados for a cruise. When we return we will be going to Florida for a few weeks. We plan to attend the Lazy Days Rally in Tampa, Florida. Undine & Willie Lamm and Alden & Linda Segrest also plan to be there. We then plan to attend the Spring Rendezvous in Missouri and, in June, go west for the Rocky Mountain Unit Rolling Buddy Rally. Would anyone like to join us?

As the weather gets colder I’m sure many others will be heading for warmer weather. Ginny & Charlie McPherren are already in Mission, Texas and will be celebrating Thanksgiving with Fleetwood friends. Some, however, plan to stay at home. Marlis & Hermann Stumps report that they have winterized there trailer and will be home probably until February. Hank & Peggy Moore have sold their Avion, but still want to be associated with the unit as Buddies.

With the end of the year it is time to pay dues for 2008. If you haven’t already done so you need to send dues of $35 to the International Fleetwood Club. If you did not receive an invoice for these dues, please let us know. So far only 13 of our members have renewed. Dues of $5 are also due to the Unit. You can send unit dues to Nancy Frank, 905 Spruce Run Road, Newport, VA 24128.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and will be able to spend time with family and friends. I also want to take this opportunity to wish all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. There won’t be a newsletter in January, so hopefully by time the next newsletter comes out in February we will be in Florida.

OKLAHOMA

Secy/Treas. Ginny Cox #11970, 3923 East 32nd St., Tulsa, OK 74135 (918) 743-2966 elgincox@netzero.net

Hello everyone! It's Ginny Cox back at the pen and paper (actually it's a Compaq PC) bringing you the news of our Oklahoma Fleetwood folk. The first order of business is to thank Mary Lu Ehrle for the terrific job she's done this past year writing the news. She's a tough act to follow. Shelby Brown and I spoke of the great time we had at the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. Bob & Clara Lee were wonderful hosts to all who attended the Balloon Fiesta. There were four Oklahoma units there and we still speak of the great time we had there.

The Oklahoma Rally was held in October at the Pioneer RV Park in historic Guthrie, OK. Elbert Cox was sworn in as President and I was sworn in as Secretary/Treasurer. We hope to add some campouts to the schedule and return to gathering around a campfire.

Speaking of campfires, we will be building a big campfire at Greenleaf State Park for a Christmas Campout on November 29-December 2nd. The park is a great place to walk, bird watch or follow a deer or two. While there we'll also join in some Christmas caroling and tree trimming.

The November luncheon in Tulsa at the Delta Cafe was on Veterans Day and our very own Jim Clubb drove his gorgeous 1959 Ford Fairlane in the downtown Tulsa's annual Veteran's Day Parade. At the luncheon were Wanda Berry, Geri Oliver, Duane Ehrle, John & Mary Lu Ehrle and Ebb & Ginny Cox.

May everyone enjoy a blessed holiday season and may the winter be mild and short so we can all be back on the road soon. Happy Holidays.

Seasons Greetings to All: We have had a beautiful fall in the Northwest. More sunshine and less rain than usual. Some of our members have already traveled to the sunny south. I know that Bridgemans, Foxes, Lavys and Vorraths are enjoying the warm Arizona weather.

Here in Oregon, we gathered for our monthly luncheon at Schroaders Guest House in Salem. Those attending were Dan & Karen Strand, Doug & Joann Strand, Dick & Carol Eckhart, Wayne & Sarah Gabel and LaVerne & Norma Edwards. Max & Polly Hohnbaum are usually there but Max is recovering from back surgery. He reports that he is out of pain and doing very well.

Helen Proctor has completed her move to Idaho. She says there are still lots of boxes that still need to be unpacked but she is getting settled in. Her new address is 1650 N. Calaveras Place, Kuna, Id. 83634 and her phone number is 208-922-5161. I am sure she would love to hear from her Fleetwood friends.

Our Oregon 2008 membership dues have been coming in very well. If you have not sent yours, there is still time. Remember just $10.00 keeps you as an active member of the Oregon unit.

Your Oregon officers wish you a wonderful Christmas and the very best in 2008.

As I’m writing this December News Letter, I’m marveling at the beautiful fall foliage. It is so beautiful the way God shows himself to us. We needed rain in New Jersey and we received it. We now ask to keep our friends safe while traveling to all parts of the country. The Lindsays will leave right after Christmas, 27th or 28th of December. Our address in Melbourne, Florida, just in case someone needs to get in touch with us: Bob & Mae Lindsay Mailbox it, 3682 North Wickham Road, B-l Box 121 Melbourne, FL 32935 or cell phone (609)468-4109.

We thank all those who have helped Bob & I to get the year started. With all of your help, we will try to do all the duties we are assigned to do! We have spoken to some of our members and they are now getting ready for Florida and the South. The Eichlins had a little trip to Maine and are now home. Wayne & Bertha Bowers are keeping active in their Polka Club, a good way to stay young, good for you both!

We trust you all are having a wonderful Thanksgiving, being with your families, and being thankful for all our blessings. Christmas is on the horizon, baking cookies, putting up trees and celebrating the best time of the year, celebrating the Birth of Christ, and all that goes with the Holiday Season. The Skrables are having the Thanksgiving dinner as usual, but a nice surprise, having their Granddaughter from Virginia, with them this year. The Lindsays will have the thanksgiving dinner this year. A week before Mae dropped the 18 lb frozen bird on her big toe. It smarted pretty good!

If you haven’t sent in your 2008 dues, please try to get them sent before December 15th. Also if you think you are entitled to a Year Award pin please fill out the form and send it to Fleetwood Travelcade Club, Carol Davis, Executive Secretary, 43597 Jared Lane, Hemet, Ca 92544. So far in our Unit, Wayne & Bertha Bowers and Phil & Pat Tuttle will have 25 years in the Club. We also have three celebrating 5 years. They are: Jim & Beryl Eichlin, Joe & Arlene Romano, and Richard & Sandra Sensel. Congratulations to them all!

Best Wishes to them all! Peace be with you all, and a Healthy New Year

Treas. Tom Roberts #24151, 8014 Jackson St., Centennial, CO 80122

Greetings from the Rocky Mountain Unit, where we're beginning to get snow in the high country. It lets us know the Holidays will be upon us soon.

Knute Cotton is again doing volunteer work at Joplin, MO, assisting with separating literature for prison ministries. He recently purchased an Avion Silver trailer and is keeping busy at home making repairs and doing lots of interior upgrades. Joan is caring for her Aunt Jeanette who recently had a double knee replacement, but has remained in the hospital with cardiac and respiratory complications.

Bob & Helen Freer are looking forward to their large family gathering for Thanksgiving. They have much to be thankful for with the safe return of their son from a 22 month deployment to Afghanistan.

Dick & Rusty Lord are awaiting the installation of a new steel roof for their house and garage. Since they live in the Colorado Rockies that will make their home safer should the forest fires return to their area.

Gary Mort reports he is taking a course in business management. He also is helping comfort his mother. Tom Roberts recently returned from a wonderful trip in Russia, cruising from St. Petersburg to Moscow, plus tours in Estonia, Helsinki, Kiev, & Ukraine.

Dick & Laura Thu report that their son and family had to evacuate from the fires near San Diego, but they and their home are fine.

Jerry & Jane Whitaker are enjoying the leaves as they change colors in Utah. As they own their company they are both still working. Harry & Betty Peterson are now on the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Hatteras Island doing their annual cottage maintenance and cleaning after the rental season. They have guests coming for several weeks, but that means there will be more time spent fishing and taking beach walks.

We close with our wishes to everyone for a spirit filled Christmas and safe journeys should you be traveling on the highways.

Hugs,

Betty

HEART OF TEXAS NEWS

I'm sorry you didn't see news from HOT last month, but I sent it to the wrong person. It really hasn't changed that much.

The Roberts and Drums attended the Southwest Roundup in Albuquerque with the Southwest Governor Bob & Clara Lee. We had an absolutely wonderful time and each event was special. The Lee’s leadership was outstanding as usual.

The Drums had a very long trip, which the Balloon Fiesta was just part of. We went to NC for Jerry's 50th Wake Forest reunion and visited with relatives there. We also did some kayaking out side of Little Washington with our daughter, Karyn and her husband, then on to Myrtle Beach for a Fraternity get-together. We managed to catch up with the travelers in Oklahoma on their way to Albuquerque. The wind howled so terribly on the next leg of the trip, that our slide-out awning was torn pretty bad. We were able to get a new one in Albuquerque.

After our terrific gathering, we headed West to see our son, Ken in California. On our way we had a blow-out on the Jeep, which tore up the fender pretty bad. We were able to get a new rim and tire in CA. While there, we lost the power steering pump on the motor home and had that fixed in San Bernardino.

We started to travel I-10 home from CA but were turned back because of the smoke. Anyway we managed to get to EL Paso to see our other son, Dave and then on home safely. We had gone over 6000 miles and put a big dent in our purse for gas.

The Rouners, Drums, Plackes and Brennens made it to the Texas Rally in Murchison. It was a lot of fun and we had great entertainment. We were sorry that Ivan Alspaw, our President had to leave, due to illness in the family.

We held a small meeting and decided on a date for our Christmas gathering and decided to possibly change our meeting place to Bryan for next year. We'll make a more firm decision next month at the party at Drums.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all.

The North End group of the Washington Unit had their luncheon get together on November 5th at the Golden Corral as usual. The south end unit decided not to have a luncheon get together because it was so close to Thanksgiving. Both groups will have luncheons meetings in January.

It was very well attended with 15 of us present. Norm & Norma Anderson, Chuck & Inez Michaels, Tom & Marnie Opstad, Marjorie & Larry Raymond, Ken & Carolyn Abramson, Trish Abernathy, George & Beth MacKay, and Jim & Fran Reed.

Tom Opstad gave a report on the state of the payment of International dues. A point made during the discussion was the fact that $35.00 is such a small amount, less than 2 coffees a month and we should make certain to pay the dues to keep the club alive.

There was a lot of discussion about the upcoming Christmas Party at Ocean Shores. We are expecting a large turn out. It is a combined party with both Washington and Oregon members attending. It appears as if there will be almost 50 members in attendance. There will be a gift exchange, a skit, a carol sing as well as the banquet. Everyone is looking forward to this beginning of the Christmas season. Ken & Carolyn passed out fridge magnets of the luncheon dates for the upcoming year.

There was some discussion regarding a date and location for the Northwest Governor's Round Up. Stay tuned, when things have been finalized we will be sure to let you know.

The Washington Unit has a new member; Darrell Larson from Blaine. We hope to meet him soon.

To all members we want to say Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for a new year filled with Fun Food and Fellowship.
